The Director-General of the World Trade Organization Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala took to her X account to break this news to her followers and also congratulates Mo Abudu for being part of the recognition by Forbes, This is a big win for Nigeria and Africa at large.

About Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is a Nigerian economist and international figure. Born on June 13, 1954, she has held prominent positions in both the Nigerian government and international organizations. Notably, she served as Nigeria's Finance Minister (2003-2006, 2011-2015) and briefly as the Foreign Affairs Minister in 2006.

Okonjo-Iweala played a key role in implementing economic reforms during her tenure, focusing on issues like corruption, public finance management, and debt relief.

Internationally, she became the first woman and the first African to be appointed as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2021.

Okonjo-Iweala is recognized for her advocacy of global trade as a tool for development and her commitment to addressing economic challenges, particularly in developing nations. Her leadership at the WTO reflects her dedication to fostering inclusive and fair trade practices on the global stage.

Mo Abudu is recognized not only for her entrepreneurial success but also for breaking barriers as a woman in the media industry. She has received numerous awards and honors for her contributions to media and entertainment in Africa. Abudu continues to be a trailblazer, promoting diversity and excellence in storytelling within the African context.
