The All Progressives Congress candidate,(APC) Senator Monday Okpebholo, has emerged victorious at the just concluded Edo State governorship election

Senator Monday Okpebholo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged as the winner of the recently concluded Edo State governorship election. His victory marks a significant moment for the APC in the state, as the party managed to secure control of Edo's executive branch, which had been previously governed by the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The election process, closely monitored by national and international observers, saw a large voter turnout, with major participation from rural areas. Senator Okpebholo’s campaign centered on promises of improving infrastructure, boosting economic development, and enhancing security across Edo State. His campaign also focused on addressing youth unemployment and improving educational facilities.

Senator Okpebholo's victory is celebrated by his supporters, who believe his leadership will bring positive changes to the state. However, the opposition has raised concerns about the election's fairness, alleging irregularities in some polling units. Despite these concerns, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the election results, stating that they were conducted following the country's electoral laws.

Senator Okpebholo has called for unity in his acceptance speech, urging citizens of Edo State to work together for the common good, regardless of their political affiliations. He emphasized his commitment to ensuring that all promises made during his campaign would be fulfilled and pledged to prioritize the development and prosperity of the state. His administration is expected to focus on key issues such as job creation, infrastructural development, and healthcare improvements.
