The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted thunderstorms and rains from Wednesday to Friday across the country.

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast predicting a series of thunderstorms and rainfall events from Wednesday to Friday across various regions of Nigeria. According to NiMet, these weather conditions will impact both the northern and southern parts of the country, with the intensity and duration of rain varying from region to region.

The forecast indicates that states in the North, such as Kano, Kaduna, and Sokoto, may experience isolated thunderstorms, particularly during the afternoons and evenings. In the central regions, including the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja), Jos, and Minna, thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rainfall are expected to occur intermittently throughout the three days.

Meanwhile, southern states like Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Calabar are likely to see more persistent and heavy rains, especially in the coastal areas. The rainfall in these regions may be accompanied by gusty winds, potentially causing localized flooding and reduced visibility for motorists and air traffic.

NiMet advises the public to remain cautious, especially in areas prone to flooding, and urges travelers to plan their journeys carefully due to the possibility of slippery roads and low visibility. Farmers are also encouraged to consider the forecast when planning their activities, as the weather may affect agricultural operations.

Overall, the weather agency calls for vigilance from the public, advising them to stay informed through regular updates and to take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period of unpredictable weather conditions.
