The situation became even more heated after a leaked phone conversation between Bob Risky and an unidentified person was shared by popular human rights activist

According to reports, Bob Risky was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of money laundering and naira mutilation, which eventually led to a three-month prison sentence. Naira mutilation, the act of defacing or damaging Nigeria’s legal tender, is a serious offense punishable by law, and this was one of the charges that stuck after the EFCC's investigation.

However, in the leaked voice call, Bob Risky narrated how he allegedly managed to have the money laundering charge removed from his list of offenses. In his account, he claims that a bribe was paid to certain individuals in exchange for wiping the money laundering charge off the record. Bob Risky further revealed that several unnamed people helped him raise the funds needed for this supposed bribery.

In a shocking revelation, Bob Risky mentioned that instead of spending his sentence in a regular prison cell, a call was made to the prison general officer to arrange for him to stay in a nearby apartment during the three-month sentence. This claim has raised eyebrows and fueled speculations about corruption and preferential treatment for high-profile individuals.

Falz and Femi Falana's Involvement

One of the most surprising aspects of the leaked conversation was Bob Risky’s mention of Nigerian rapper Falz and his father, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi Falana, as key figures in securing his leniency. Bob Risky claimed that Falz and Femi Falana played pivotal roles in helping him navigate the legal storm, ensuring he spent less time in prison and possibly securing his pardon.
