Dr. Ben Oramalugo, the Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Oyo/Osun Area Command, announced today, August 30, 2024, that the Command successfully generated a remarkable revenue of N18,078,967,686.49 billion. This figure reflects the Command's commitment to enhancing revenue collection and underscores the effectiveness of its strategies in curbing smuggling and improving trade facilitation within the region.

During a press briefing, Dr. Oramalugo attributed this achievement to the concerted efforts of the officers and men of the Command, who have shown dedication to their duties despite the challenging economic environment. He also highlighted the importance of collaboration with stakeholders, including importers, exporters, and other government agencies, to ensure compliance with customs regulations and foster a conducive environment for legitimate trade.

The Controller further explained that the Command's success was driven by a combination of measures, such as intensified surveillance, the deployment of modern technology for tracking and inspection, and the prompt processing of goods and services.
